When experienced at the wrong time and in the wrong context…
A lot of people who win the lottery end up losing it all.
Declaring bankruptcy a few years later and committing suicide.
Despite “wealth” being something desirable, a lot of extra available cash to someone whose life isn’t in order may bring more chaos than peace.
Children, one of the greatest gifts, to a father and mother whose age and relationship is unstable,
Can become what feels like a “heavy responsibility” and to some, a burden – leading to trauma, poor parenting and social challenges.
A relationship to God, in the context of fanatic and cultish religious groups, becomes a destructive, isolating force that fosters hatred, disconnection and self-righteousness among its members.
In essence, anything in life – no matter how sacred and beautiful – if experienced in the wrong context.
Can lead to chaos.
The same is truth for plant medicine.
Most of the ‘warning’ and ‘dangerous side-effects/horror stories’ you hear about people losing their mind, being molested or dying during ceremony are the result of careless and/or ill-intended space-holders.
They are the result of an absent care and guidance around preparation, ceremony and integration.
Ayahuasca on the wrong hands, in the wrong territories and under inexperienced guides becomes a potential pandora box which once open is difficult to contain.
However, under the right circumstances, it becomes one of life’s greatest teachers and blessings.
Countless are the people whose life was turned around from purposelessness, pain, trauma, depression, addiction and anxiety and into clarity, peace, joy and a profound sense of connection.
Transformation is possible,
But context is key.
