A lot of people have this as their main fear.β
- What if it’s too much?
- What if I lose my mind?β
- What if I see something that I can’t deal with?β
- What if I end up more messed up than I am?β
- What if I have a bad trip?β
These questions are normal and often come from people who suffer from anxiety, depression, mental health challenges AND/OR have had a very bad experience with psychedelics.β
β
They took mushrooms or LSD that one time at their friends place and almost kill themselves (or went through hell for what seemed like an eternity).β
β
The truth is that if you give a sharp knife to a bunch of kids, the chances they’ll hurt themselves are very high.β
β
Same goes for plant medicines – when used outside of a sacred context and without the proper guidance of experienced Shamans and facilitators…β
β
Things can get out of hand very quickly and become very damaging for those involved.β
β
However, the opposite is true.β
β
When you give a very sharp knife to a chef or a surgeon,β
you get either the most delicious food or lives that are saved by precise cutting and removing of things that were no longer needed.β
β
So how strong is the trip?β
β
That depends on many factors:β
- How open your heart isβ β₯
- How well you followed the preparation guidelinesβ π
- How advanced your spiritual growth is β β¨
- How stable your mind isβ π§
- How grounded you are in your body β π§π»ββοΈ
- How strong the medicine isβ π
- How capable are the shamans guiding itβ π§πΎββοΈ
- How the moon is on that nightβ π
All of these factors account for stronger or softer experiences.β
β
However, a strong experience is only something to be afraid of if you are not ready for it.β
β
Like a big wave – Gold to the surfers and chaos to the tourists.β
β
This is why in our community, we spend enough time preparing each attendee before coming into the space.β
β
We want them to have a strong experience, that’s where the magic happens.β
β
But we also want them to feel safe, comfortable and at ease throughout it.β
